LUCRE
LUCRE strives to mobilize the latent innovation potential in large user populations and to provide a framework for turning service ideas into widely used services. It aims to take the user-created content to the next level by enabling users to create both location-sensitive online content and services that better match their everyday needs.
Lucre will provide the following:
Initial inventory of content creation tools needed. The end-user needs that relate to content and service creation are mapped and concepts for needed tools are outlined.
State-of-the-art study in user-created services. Solid understanding of what is currently offered in the areas of end-user service creation, service customization, and mash-up tools provides a starting point for both Lucre internal as well as program-level development activities.
Overview of current user practices in various related areas. Based on the overview and the state-of-the-art study (above), the most promising service domains are selected for piloting and first versions of service concepts are drafted.
First versions of Lucre tools. First versions of tools for service creation and service management are made and tested, and offered for other projects to use and develop.
Pilot service trials. The implemented pilot services go through service trials as part of the user-centered design process. Lucre aims to involve the actual end-users throughout the whole design and implementation process of the pilot services to ensure that the pilots are both usable and useful for the end-users, and thus able to provide a proof-of-concept.
